IN PARTNERSHIP WITH AGING AND DISABILITY SERVICES DIVISION
This course will provide participants with an understanding of issues related to substance use and problem gambling. Emphasis should be on identifying signs and symptoms of substance use and problematic substance use, as well as problem gambling. Substance classification will be discussed and the latest on new designer substances and their impact. Additionally, there will be discussion and awareness of treatment options and modalities and important considerations for families, friends, caregivers, and supporters.
By the end of the presentation, participants will:
Improve awareness of prevalence rates of Substance Use
Identify the signs and symptoms of Substance Use Disorder and specific substances
Identify the signs and symptoms of Gambling Disorder
Develop awareness of treatment options and modalities
Share some important considerations for family, friends, caregivers and supporters
