Loss is an inevitable byproduct of attachment, one that time alone does not heal. Working through the process of grieving lost loved ones can be a long, life-changing experience. Because grief is universal, understanding how to help clients work through the grieving process is a critical skill for helping professionals.

During this training participants will delve into the mysteries of the way death impacts survivors, strategies for the identification of those who are stuck in the grieving processes, and pathways to provide support and therapy for those struggling with grief.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this workshop participants will:

1. Understand the relationship between attachment and loss.

2. Define and identify the characteristics of complicated bereavement.

3. Describe the tasks of grieving.

4. Learn at least one intervention useful in helping people work through the grief process.
