Motivational Interviewing: A Comprehensive Training (Reno): IN-PERSON CLASS

19 May 2025 - 20 May 2025
Reno, NV

In this two day training we will cover in the ins and outs of motivational interviewing. We will have time for discussion, practice, and videos. We'll cover MI theory, concepts, and applications. Come join us and move from "doing a little MI," to a broader understanding of how MI guides humanistic practice over the full course of treatment. We will cover how to track and maintain therapeutic alliance, how to use empathy to move toward change, how to build discrepancy rather than confront - coming alongside the challenge rather than squaring off with our clients. Learn this humanistic modality and help people face life's challenges on their own terms.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the foundational principles and concepts of Motivational Interviewing
  2. Apply MI techniques to enhance therapeutic alliance and empathy
  3. Develop skills in building discrepancy and supporting client autonomy
