Confidentiality & Privacy for Behavioral Health Providers (6 CEUs): SELF-PACED ONLINE
This online video course will cover Federal Drug and Alcohol Confidentiality Law (42 CFR Part 2) and the Health Insurance Portability And Accountability Act (HIPAA). The training will provide information on which programs must comply with Federal Privacy Laws and under which circumstances, and to understand the interplay between the Federal Laws Governing Confidentiality Substance Use Treatment Patient Records and the Health the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Additionally, Nevada specific Privacy Laws will be explored and reviewed in light of Federal Privacy requirements. Finally, a summary of recent revisions to the Federal Laws will be reviewed.

Gambling Disorder Overview: SELF-PACED ONLINE
Counselors seeking information on how they can work with clients affected by gambling disorder in their practice will benefit from this introduction through a Gambling Disorder Overview. Participants will learn about gambling disorder patterns, phases, and risk factors as well as diagnostic classifications and the gambling continuum. The online training will look at types of gambling and how public perceptions and stigma around gambling impact awareness, treatment, and recovery. We’ll look at some of the brain science – the neurobiology – surrounding gambling disorder and the similarities and differences between substance use and gambling disorders. Information about why counselors should consider seeking gambling counselor certification and basic information on goals and requirements of certification will be covered.

Ethical Issues for Rural and Frontier Providers: SELF-PACED ONLINE
Behavioral health professionals face many different and complex ethical issues. Concerns regarding dual relationship, scope of practice, professional conduct, mandatory reporting and other ethical issues frequently arise. In this course, these ethical issues will be discussed in the context of the ethical standards in the Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) 641C, NAC 641A-C , AAMFT Code of Ethics and NASW Code of Ethics. The techniques and principles presented in this workshop will benefit social workers, counselors and other behavioral health practitioners.

Gambling and Opioid Use Disorder: Intersections and Integration: SELF-PACED ONLINE
Clients in treatment for Opioid Use Disorders, particularly those in medication assisted treatment have been found to have extremely high rates of co-occurring gambling disorder. This online training will review the research on the co-occurrence of gambling disorder and opioid use disorder, focusing on both quantitative and qualitative research that has sought to understand this connection. Transcripts from clients in medication assisted treatment will be used to illustrate the role gambling plays in their lives and recoveries. Strategies for screening and treating gambling issues among those in treatment for opioid use disorders will be discussed.

Statutory, administrative and ethical standards along with best practice applications for Alcohol and Drug, MFT, and Social Work interns, supervisors and practitioners will be summarized and illustrated. Mandated reporting requirements; ideas for enhancing cooperation with court ordered clients; applications to enhance the client alliance and improve outcomes; and, updated practice, reporting and informed consent standards will be discussed. Scenarios to illustrate legal and ethical breaches involving supervisors, clinicians and interns will be discussed and processed.
