DESCRIPTION:
Federal health privacy laws (including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2) provide privacy protections for substance use disorder (SUD) treatment records\, and permit sharing of patient records in certain circumstances.&nbsp\; Because these laws can be confusing\, it can be hard to understand when they apply\, what information should be kept private\, and what information can be shared\, with whom\, and when.

On Tuesday September 28th\, 2021 from 11:30AM – 1:00 PM PST\, CAI and the Network for Public Health Law\, in partnership with the Opioid Response Network (ORN)\, will facilitate a 90-minute virtual training for Nevada providers who create\, maintain\, receive or transmit SUD treatment information. This training will provide an overview of the federal health privacy laws\, under HIPPA and 42 CFR Part 2\, and how to apply them in your practice.
