PRSS Supervision Consultation Session: 12/11/24

11 Dec 2024

CASAT has received funding to implement the Accelerate Career Pathways for Substance Use, Problem Gambling Treatment, with the goal of increasing the number of trained peer recovery support specialist supervisors in Nevada. As a result, this consultation series is a part of the 2024 Peer Recovery Support Specialist Supervisor (PRSS-S) Coaching Academy.

Participation is free to those previously approved for the Coaching Academy who are interested in becoming Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist Supervisors (PRSS-S) by the Nevada Certification Board (NCB).

These Virtual communities of practice will offer a platform for participants to come together after the initial in-person training to further practice supervision skills and review real life case examples that they may be facing in their own practice. In addition to board required PRSS Supervision Training, principles of Mental Health First Aid and trauma informed response training will be embedded within the communities of practice. Communities of practice led by an experienced supervisor will further strengthen skills learned during the initial PRSS supervision in-person or virtual training series to enhance the quality of supervision being provided to incoming interns through continuous collaborative learning.
