Description

The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Criteria 4th Edition (Adult) is the most widely used and comprehensive set of guidelines for assessment, placement, treatment planning, transition and continued service criteria for clients with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Treatment providers and program evaluators use patient placement criteria to ensure that clients receive the appropriate level of care based on person-centered needs. This 6-hour in person training will facilitate an understanding of the updated Continuum of Care, implementation of the Level of Care Assessment and Dimensional Admission Criteria (Risk Rating).  Additionally, updated Transition and Continued Service Criteria will be reviewed.  Special consideration will also be reviewed related to assessing individuals who are  justice involved. A case study will be utilized demonstrating how to implement the updated 4th Edition within practice.
