Description

This course will provide participants with an understanding of issues related to substance use. Emphasis should be on identifying signs and symptoms of substance use and problematic substance use. Substance classification will be discussed and the latest on new designer substances and their impact. Differential diagnosis will be explored as well.  

Learning Objectives

By the end of this presentation, participants will:

• Identify signs and symptoms of substance use and problematic substance use.

• Describe classifications of substances, including emerging and designer substances.

• Explain the impact of new and emerging substances on individuals and communities.

• Describe the role of differential diagnosis in assessing substance-related concerns.
