In this training, participants will gain a better understanding regarding how specific nutrients impact mental health. You’ll gain insight into how deficiencies can impact mood, cognition, and overall mental wellness. Through engaging discussions and practical examples, participants will learn to identify symptoms of nutritional deficiencies and explore dietary strategies to address these issues. In addition, we will examine the fascinating concept of the gut-brain axis, understanding how the health of the gastrointestinal system influences mental health. Participants will leave equipped with practical tools to implement dietary recommendations, considering individual preferences and restrictions. Learning Objectives

By the end of this presentation, participants will:

  • Describe the connection between nutritional deficiencies and mental health.

  • Identify at least three crucial nutrients that play a significant role in mental health.

  • Recognize at least three signs of nutritional deficiencies that may manifest as mental health symptoms.

  • Describe the concept of the gut-brain axis and how a healthy gut contributes to better mental well-being.

  • Acquire practical strategies to incorporate nutrient-rich foods into treatment plans particularly when access is an issue
