Whether you've been supervising for years or are relatively new to the role, this 6-hour refresher course is designed to deepen your knowledge, refine your skills, and strengthen your confidence as you guide the next generation of mental health and substance use professionals.
Clinical supervision is one of the most important and complex roles we take on in our field. As supervisors, we wear many hats: educator, mentor, evaluator, gatekeeper, and advocate. We help supervisees develop their clinical skills while protecting client welfare and maintaining ethical standards. It's challenging work that requires ongoing learning and intentional practice.
This course is structured to support your growth through five comprehensive modules:
Each module combines recorded lectures, interactive activities, and knowledge checks to help you engage with the material. You'll move through the course at your own pace, with the flexibility to revisit content as needed.
By the end of this presentation, participants will:
Review key concepts and standards from the initial 12-hour Clinical Supervision training applicable to license renewal in Nevada.
Apply clinical supervision skills to support the delivery of high-quality, effective services for individuals with substance use disorders.
Observe and assess supervisee job performance in clinical settings.
Provide appropriate feedback and coaching to support supervisee development.
Identify supervisee learning needs and develop achievable learning objectives.
Monitor and evaluate supervisee performance to assess supervision effectiveness.
Apply ethical principles to clinical supervision through case-based scenarios.
