Integrating the Topics of Gambling and Problem Gambling Into Substance Use Treatment 12/1: LIVE WEBINAR Registration Closed

This presentation will discuss how substance use disorder counselors caneffectively integrate the topic of gambling and problem gambling into their work with SUD treatment clients. The presentation will begin with an overview of the literaturelinking gambling disorder and substance use disorders along with evidence that suggests that addressing gambling in SUD treatment improves client outcomes. The majority of the presentation will be spent on practical methods and tips on how to integrate gamlbing and problem gambling discussions into the SUD treatment process from assessment through discharge. The topics to be covered include screening and assessment, treatment planning, integrating the topic of gambling into therapy groups, and relapse prevention / continued wellness planning.
