The goal of this training is to provide clinicians with information on how cultural concepts and considerations can be applied to various client backgrounds apart from one's own. We will focus on how the cultural beliefs of a client can create a bridge towards effective treatment without disrespect to the client or creating an obstacle in treatment. The training will also touch on how clinicians can advocate for liberation and justice within the treatment process.
By the end of this presentation, participants will:
Identify how specific multicultural considerations can be applied with all clients.
Understand how to respect and utilize the beliefs of others in treatment.
Identify how justice and liberation could be applied to work with clients.
Identify stereotypes that could create obstacles in treatment.
Identify culturally sensitive evidence based treatment methods in treatment.
