12 Nov 2024

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH AGING AND DISABILITY SERVICES DIVISION

This interactive 2-hour webinar, "Mapping Out Caregiving," is designed to guide caregivers through the essential steps of their caregiving journey. Participants will explore the comprehensive Caregiver Map, which includes 25 key steps that caregivers commonly encounter. Through a blend of collaborative learning, open discussions, and peer support, participants will deepen their understanding of caregiving challenges and strategies. This workshop encourages a sharing environment where all questions are valid, and caregivers both teach and learn from each other.

Participants will also review a glossary of essential medical and legal terms, enhancing their ability to navigate these topics without offering professional advice. By the end of the workshop, caregivers will leave equipped with practical resources, strategies, and connections to support them in their ongoing caregiving roles.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify and navigate the 25 steps outlined in the Caregiver Map, gaining insight into their current caregiving journey.

  2. Collaborate with other caregivers to share knowledge, experiences, and solutions, recognizing the value of peer learning.

  3. Evaluate personal caregiving experiences in relation to the Caregiver Map, reflecting on what stage they are in and what steps lie ahead.

  4. Understand key medical and legal terminology related to caregiving, while receiving educational resources for further reference.

  5. Explore creative caregiving techniques that are adaptable to individual caregiving situations, empowering participants with practical tools.

  6. Utilize the provided caregiver resources and contacts, including reliable information and networking opportunities, for ongoing support beyond the workshop.

This workshop is designed to foster a sense of community, active learning, and confidence among participants, helping them to better manage their caregiving responsibilities.
