<p><em></em><strong>The Intention:</strong> Enhance personal peace\, interpersonal connection\, and clinical effectiveness.&nbsp\;</p>
<p>This class will be an educational retreat experience that will provide a quiet space to reflect throughout the day on your values\, your self-care\, your relationships\, and your vision of meaningful clinical practice. This course is approved in Nevada for live CEUs for Psychology\, Social Work\, Marriage and Family Therapy\,&nbsp\;<span class="il">Clinical</span>&nbsp\;Professional Counselors\, Alcohol/Drug Counselors\, and RN. Clinical Supervisors may also find this class supportive of your work in providing clinical supervision and leading clinical teams.&nbsp\;</p>
<p><strong>First Section:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Examine changes you may integrate in your daily life and professional practice to live with greater peace of mind and harmony.</li>
<li>Therapeutic presence.</li>
<li>Identify your current experience of compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue.</li>
<li>Examine your level of stress in 6 life dimensions.</li>
<li>Develop your personal multidimensional resiliency plan.</li>
<li>Respond rather than react (being grounded\, centered and balanced): identify “reactive triggers” and use the mindfulness informed Vision-Decision-Action paradigm to consciously respond based on your core values.</li>
<li>Become aware of how your healthcare organization may be creating a “compassion fatigue” environment.&nbsp\;</li>
<li>Learn what healthcare organizations can do to minimize compassion fatigue and encourage and enhance clinician efficacy\, wellness\, and satisfaction (which can lead to improved clinician health and morale\, enhanced clinician retention\, increased patient satisfaction).</li>

<p><em>The first section is informed by the wisdom of Dr. Steven C. Hayes ( Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)\, Dr. Viktor Frankl (Logotherapy)\, Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction)\, Dr. Charles L. Figley (Treating Compassion Fatigue)\, David Lencioni (Overcoming the Five Dysfunctions of a Team)\, Stephen Batchelor (Secular Dharma)\, Dr. Howard Gardner (Good Work: When Excellence Meets Ethics)\, Dr. William James (Pragmatism)\, Dr. Antonio DaMassio (The Strange Order of Things) and Drs. Gremer\, Siegel\, Fulton (Mindfulness and Psychotherapy).</em></p>
<p><strong>Second Section:</strong> The Art of Mindfulness and Therapy: Personal Awareness and Professional Practice&nbsp\;</p>

<li>Experience a variety of in-class mindfulness exercises.</li>
<li>Develop a working understanding of how to access and use various mindfulness approaches.</li>
<li>Practice being present with ourselves and those who consult with us.</li>
<li>Learn and practice mindfulness skills to share with clients.</li>
